Maruti Suzuki has officially announced a voluntary recall for the Alto K10 hatchback. The automaker’s most affordable offering has been recalled due to a possible defect in the steering gearbox assembly.
According to Maruti, in rare cases, the issue may affect the steering capability of the car. A total of 2,555 units have been recalled and the company has advised owners of the model to avoid driving or using the vehicle until the said part is replaced.
The official dealerships of Maruti Suzuki will be contacting owners of the affected vehicles to inspect the part in question. Additionally, in case of a defect, the part will be replaced at no cost to the customer.
