CG Automobiles, authorised dealers of Maruti Suzuki in Nepal, have announced that they will launch the Alto 800 compact hatchback for the Nepali car market in the second week of March.
CG Automobiles have confirmed that it has placed the orders for the vehicles and that there much interest for it from the customers. The Alto 800 was launched for the Indian car market on October 17, 2012 and was the first major update for India’s highest selling car in a decade. The car has been a major success for the Indo-Japanese automaker garnering over 40,000 bookings in just three months.
The Alto 800 is an updated version of the Alto and is powered by a 796cc petrol engine producing 48bhp and 67Nm of torque. It has an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 22.74kmpl, a 15 per cent increase over the previous model. The last generation Alto has been on sale in Nepal since 2001.
CG automobiles have said that it will announce the price for the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 during the launch. The car will be imported from India in CBU form and is expected to cost significantly more than the sticker price in India.
