The updated version of the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 has started arriving at the dealership stockyard. It receives mild cosmetic upgrades along with new standard safety features that include reverse parking sensors, speed alert-system, driver airbag, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder and ABS with EBD.
To give it a fresh look, the new Alto 800 will get a mildly tweaked front grille and a new bumper. Interestingly, the updated model now gets an ‘Alto’ badge instead of the ‘Alto 800’ badging on the existing model. As for the interior, the hatchback gets a black and beige finish on the seats, dashboard and the door panels. To keep the costs in check, the vehicle gets a basic music system.
Mechanically, the Alto 800 facelift will continue to be powered by the existing 796cc petrol engine that comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission to generate 48bhp of power. Although the pricing aspect is unknown for now, we believe that the updated model is likely to cost an additional Rs 20,000 over the current pricing.
