>It seems obvious from the bright-red decals and strip on the chin that this will be a sportier version of the Ignis
>Details are expected to only be released by Suzuki Indonesia when the show gets rolling
Sources have spotted what clearly looks like a Maruti Suzuki Ignis being readied on a stage at the upcoming GIIAS auto show in Indonesia (2th-12th August).
What’s surprising is that the ‘Suzuki Sport Concept’ name plate features prominently instead of Ignis. Now, as the Indonesian Ignis is shipped out of the Indian factory, Maruti could might as well consider this version for the lndian market to boost its sales.
And this will come handy as the Maruti Ignis currently sells about 4500-plus units. Although it features in the top 20 cars sold in India (by sales volume), Maruti would want it closer to its siblings like the Baleno, Alto, Swift and Dzire which sell upwards of 17,000 units (volumes as per June 2018 stats).
