- Will feature a different top hat than that of the eVX
- Could be powered by a 60kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor
Even as the automotive world awaits the arrival of Maruti’s first-ever all-electric offering in January 2025, Toyota’s version of the said model, which has been in the works, has finally received a debut timeline.
The Maruti eVX-based Toyota mid-size electric SUV will break cover in the second quarter of the next calendar year. Showcased in the concept form as the Urban SUV back in December 2023, Toyota’s version will differentiate itself from the Maruti EV by boasting a different top hat. Notably, the Toyota EV will be manufactured at Suzuki’s production facility in Gujarat.
Apart from sales in India, this Toyota EV will be exported to foreign markets such as Japan, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. This version is confirmed to arrive with a 4WD system in tow, although it remains to be seen if Maruti offers the same with the eVX.
Under the hood, the model is expected to be propelled by a 60kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor powering the front wheels. It is believed that this powertrain will return a range of 550km on a single full charge.
