It seems like Maruti has finally discontinued the Estilo from the market. Although there is no official word yet from the manufacturer in this regard, the Estilo has been taken off the company’s official website. The Estilo is essentially a re-christened version of the Suzuki MR Wagon and was introduced in 2006. The introductory model had the four-cylinder, 1.1-litre engine from the Wagon R mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The update in 2009 dropped the Zen moniker and got the small capacity three-cylinder, 1.0-litre K-series engine which now powers all of Maruti’s entry level hatchbacks. The car was available in petrol and CNG with a choice of two variants Lxi and Vxi, it was priced at Rs 3.50 lakh to 4.40 lakh (Ex-Showroom Delhi). The top-end Vxi came with ABS, driver side airbag, power windows, electric ORVMs and tubeless tyres.
In our previous report on the Estilo, we had mentioned that the car was being offered with discounts in the range of Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 in a bid to boost its numbers and clear stock.
After soldering on for eight long years the Estilo seems to be rested, as the focus has moved on to Maruti’s new star, the Celerio. This is the second model to be dropped after the A-Star, from Maruti’s website after the launch of the Celerio.
