- Maruti's first electric SUV
- To be unveiled in the coming month
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara made its global debut last month. However, the carmaker is all set to showcase its first electric SUV in India at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo. Here's all that we can expect.
Exterior
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is the brand's first 'eBorn SUV', also depicted through the first set of teasers. It is based on the HEARTECT-e platform specially designed for battery electric vehicles. As seen at the earlier Auto Expo in concept form, the design of the e Vitara is based on the same eVX concept. The car boasts sleek single-pod headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and wraparound LED taillights. A black insert connects the latter. The e Vitara will ride on either 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
Things are interesting even inside the e Vitara with a dual-screen layout and a two-spoke steering wheel. This EV has several features such as automatic climate control, heated mirrors, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, wireless charger, and even ADAS.
Powertrain
Globally, the Suzuki e Vitara is offered with two battery options — 49kWh and 61kWh. The smaller battery comes with a single electric motor powering the front axle. It has a power output of 142bhp and 189Nm pf torque. Meanwhile, the larger 61kWh battery is offered in both single-motor and dual-motor variants with power outputs of 172bhp/189Nm and 184bhp/300Nm, respectively.
