A side development of the Maruti Dzire is that the CNG variant has been brought along right from the start. It will be offered in two trim levels- VXi MT and ZXi MT. The VXi trim is a mid-spec offering while the ZXi variant is one step below the top.
The engine in question is Maruti’s 1.2 Z-Series engine, which produces 68bhp/101.8Nm and is only offered with a five-speed MT. Maruti claims a mileage of 33.73km/kg for the Dzire CNG, while its hatchback sibling, the Swift, has a mileage of 32.85km/kg.
Over the LXi variant's VXi trim gets added exterior trim bits and more features. The Zxi variant, over the VXi, gets 15-inch alloy wheels, a reverse parking camera, TPMS, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone mirroring, button start, auto headlamps, a rear AC vent, and the Suzuki Connect connected car system.
The new Dzire CNG's rivals include the Hyundai Aura CNG, Hyundai Exter CNG, Tata Tigor CNG, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG, Maruti Fronx CNG, Maruti Baleno CNG, Toyota Glanza CNG, and Toyota Taisor CNG.
