Launched way back in October 2015, Maruti’s premium hatchback Baleno has been doing well in the Indian market. Celebrating its first anniversary, the automaker has reportedly sold over one lakh units in the country. Moreover, the country’s largest automaker has sold about 33,800 Baleno cars across the world including Japan and Europe.
Speaking on the occasion, Maruti Suzuki’s Executive Director Marketing & Sales, Mr. R S Kalsi, said, “Baleno is one of the big success stories of the Indian auto industry. Baleno carries our new design philosophy and is equipped with several high-end features and technologies like Apple CarPlay that have attracted young customers. Our engineers have ensured that built on an innovative new platform, Baleno offers superior ride and handling, besides best-in-class fuel efficiency. Safety features like dual airbags and ABS with EBD are standard in Baleno – another first for this segment. It is truly a symbol of Make-in-India.”
The Baleno hatchback from Maruti Suzuki is available in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol that generates 84bhp of power, while the diesel is powered by a 1.3-litre engine which generates 75bhp of power. Both the engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the petrol is offered with a CVT as well.
