Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. announced that it has achieved a new milestone of selling more than 6.5 lakh units of the Bolero till date. The Bolero has ranked fifth in the list of top 10 passenger vehicles sold this year and is the only SUV on that list.
Mahindra’s SUV, the Bolero, was launched in 2000 and has been winning customers for 13 years successfully. Mahindra Bolero is one of the pioneering attempts by Mahindra & Mahindra to create a true multi-utility vehicle. The all-new sports-utility vehicle (SUV) has been designed in a way that appeals the younger generation of car buyers in India. The automobile sports a host of new features, which perfectly suit the needs of Indian consumers and could be a factor driving its sales. An off-road SUV, it delivers uncompromising fuel efficiency and commendable performance on city roads as well.
It has been the highest selling SUV seven years in a row since FY-2007. The list of achievements does not end there. Apart from this, the vehicle has been rated as number one in the TNS Automotive Total Customer Satisfaction Study 2012. The fiscal year 2013 saw a 17 per cent rise in sales as compared to 2012. Around 1,17,665 units of the Bolero were sold in 2013 making it the only SUV in India to sell over one lakh vehicles for two consecutive years.
