Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India’s biggest automakers, will have a variety of eccentric vehicles to lure visitors at the 2014 Auto Expo. The brand will have no less than three all-new products in the form of the XUV 500 Hybrid, the Verito electric and the Quanto automatic.
In what can be only called as an indication towards efficient motoring, Mahindra will be showcasing the XUV 500 with hybrid technology. The company is already in works with its sister brand Ssangyong to develop a range of new engines for future models.
Next up is the Verito Electric. First shown at the 2012 Auto Expo, the electric sedan is powered by a 29 kW electric motor, enabling it a driving range of around 100km. With power output higher than that of the e2o electric city car (19 kW), the electric Verito promises a respectable top speed of 86 kmph. Having said that there will be a new variant of the e2o, equipped with improved and new charging technology for reduced charging time.
Mahindra’s love for going green doesn’t stop with the Verito Electric and the e2o. The brand, along with Mahindra Reva, will showcase its Formula E car and an electric sports car concept. The company has revealed that it will also showcase the next generation technology that is being geared up for commercialisation in the near future through a variety of displays. Among the displays, the main attraction will be Mahindra Racing's Formula E racer that will take part in the world Formula E Championship to be held later this year.
