After acquiring the Italian design house Pininfarina, Mahindra rekindled their long-held dream of becoming a full-stack carmaker. After putting together a star-studded team led by Michael Pershke, Mahindra has now tied up with Rimac, one of the world’s best names when it comes to electric car powertrains.
Headquartered in Munich, Automobili Pininfarina is positive that the PF0 concept will hit 100kmph in less than two seconds and have a top speed that inches closer to 400kmph, announcing their arrival in style. On the leaderboard, Pininfarina has Peter Tutzer with Bugatti, Pagani and Lotus experiences under his belt. Ex-Porsche Mission E engineer Dr Christian Jung is leading the charge along with ex-F1 driver Nick Heidfeld taking charge of the testing and development duties.
Rimac already has the record for the fastest car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and with proven technology and with such a star-studded team, we should be expecting the PF0 to be a reality by 2021.
