Mahindra has announced that the Y400 premium SUV will be launched in India on 19 November. It’s in essence the G4 Ssangyong Rexton but will be sold in India under a different name and with the Mahindra badging.
We already know what the car looks like both on the inside and outside thanks to it being unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo and subsequent spy shots of the vehicle testing in and around Mumbai city.To know more about the car that was showcased at the 2018 Expo click on the line at the bottom of the story.
The Indian automaker has also said that the car will be built at their Chakan facility and that it will be retailed from a separate premium section of the Mahindra showroom that is being created just for this vehicle.
Speaking on the announcement, Rajan Wadhera, president – automotive sector, said, “The Y400 is one of the most eagerly anticipated launches of this year. Positioned in the high-end SUV segment, the Y400 is a high-end, full sized SUV that offers luxury and exclusivity in its tasteful design, lavish interiors, thrilling performance and best in class features.
We are sure that it will further enhance our SUV portfolio.”
The Y400 will be Mahindra’s answer to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V and the Isuzu MU-X.
