-Next-generation Rexton to be sold as a Mahindra badged car
-Unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo
-Diesel power only
-Rival to the Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, Honda CR-V and Ford Endeavour
The interiors of the Mahindra Y400 were espied free of any camouflage ahead of the car’s debut slated for the end of this month. In essence, it’s the next generation Ssangyong Rexton but will be sold in India with Mahindra badging and in a separate showroom to enhance its premium positioning.
The spy pictures, as expected, reveal brown and black interiors with silver-coloured plastics for the air con vents. It’s a fully loaded SUV and so the features list includes a massive touchscreen display, electrically adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, multi-zone climate control and of course, space for seven people.
The only engine on offer is expected to be a 2.2-litre diesel producing 185bhp. And the India-spec alone is expected to be offered with a six-speed AT. This Rexton is Mahindra’s return to the D-segment premium SUV´s fight, where it will take on the Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, Honda CR-V and Ford Endeavour.
