The Mahindra XUV500 is now available in a new Sportz edition in India. It is based on the W10 variant, which gets some cosmetic enhancements without any changes to the feature list. However, this special edition is available only with the 2.2-litre diesel variants, so won't be available in Delhi and NCR. Let's take a closer look at the cosmetic tweaks to the exterior through this photo gallery.
The XUV500 Sportz edition comes with body decals on the bonnet and ORVM caps. The fog lamp inserts are also painted in a copper brown colour.
On the sides, the lower door panels get a special 'Sportz' stickering in the same copper brown and black paint scheme. The door handles sport the identical finish as that of the fog lamp inserts.
Additionally, the roof rails also have been finished in this contrasting shade. Since the W10 variant gets the sun roof, the Sportz edition will also get this feature.
Like the Sportz badge on the C-pillar, Mahindra has placed a similar emblem on the dashboard and the key fob as well. The Sportz sticker will be pasted on the tailgate too.
There are no mechanical changes to the XUV500 Sportz edition. It continues to be powered by the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, which churns out 138bhp and 330Nm of torque.
Buyers can opt for either a six-speed MT or a six-speed AT gearbox. However, the Sportz edition will be available only with the FWD variants. Dark grey alloys are specific to this edition.
All of the aforementioned styling bits cost Rs 10,000 more than the standard model. The Sportz Edition MT costs Rs 16,52,940 and the AT is priced at Rs 17,55,570 (ex-showroom Mumbai).
