Mahindra has launched a special edition XUV500 Sportz and has priced it at Rs 16.52 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra) for the MT model and Rs 17.55 lakh for the AT variant. As the name suggests, it is a special edition and gets a host of cosmetic additions and is based on the top-of-the-line W10 variants.
This Sportz edition gets decals on the hood, red inserts on the fog lamps and ORVMS, red roof rails, Sportz stickers on the side and rear, red door handles and red brake callipers. Also included in the package is special badging on the pillars, dashboard and the key. Powering this Sportz Edition is the 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 140bhp/330Nm of torque. This version is available both with the six-speed manual and six-speed AT.
Since this is the top-of-the-line W10 variant, it gets climate control, touchscreen infotainment system, leather seats, and electric adjustment for the driver’s seat, dual airbags and ABS with EBD. The AT variant also gets a stability programme.
The XUV500 competes with the likes of the Tata Hexa and the Toyota Innova in the D-segment of the Indian car market.
