Mahindra has launched its XUV500 SUV for 5.3 million Nepali Rupees (Rs 33.15 Lakh) through Agni incorporated – the official dealers for Mahindra cars in Nepal. The Indian SUV has launched all three variants of the vehicle and has priced the top-end W8 AWD variant for 6.15 million Nepali Rupees (Rs 38.37 lakh).
The Mahindra XUV500 for Nepal is manufactured at their plant in Chakan near Pune and has the same features as well as engines. The XUV500 is built using monocoque construction and is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine which produces 140bhp and 330Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels/ all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Most of the cars sold in the Nepali market are imported from India and due to the hill nations high tax structure, the cost of the vehicles are more than double of what they are India.
