Reports have indicated that Mahindra has been working on XUV500 facelift for a while now. This time around, the SUV has been spotted on test in the country, thereby hinting on its possible launch sometime soon. The new model will get fresh cosmetic upgrades and is also likely to get a new petrol engine and an updated diesel version.
The upcoming Mahindra XUV500 facelift will get an updated 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine which will generate around 167bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. The company also plans to launch a 2.2-litre petrol engine which will generate around 138bhp of power and 320Nm of torque, this is the same engine block as that of the 2.2 L mHawk diesel engine. The petrol version is also expected to get six-speed automatic gearbox.
The interior is also expected to get fresh upgrades in form of revised upholstery, new centre console and door inserts. The company has not spoken about it official launch date yet, however we believe it might be introduced sometime early in 2018. More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come.
