-Â Â Mahindra XUV300 has outsold the Ford EcoSport and Honda WR-V over the last couple of months.
Mahindra sold 4,742 units of the XUV300 in India in March 2019. In the process, the Mahindra XUV300 has surpassed the sales of Ford EcoSport and Honda WR-V for two consecutive months. The EcoSport registered sales of 4,241 units, while the WR-V recorded only 2,552 units in March.
The Mahindra XUV300 was launched on 14 February, while bookings commenced in January. The company had sold 4,484 units of the SUV in February 2019. The newest entrant into the compact SUV segment has received, according to Mahindra, over 13,000 bookings as of March 2019. That said, it will be interesting to see how the XUV300 fares going ahead, as the Hyundai Venue is set to mark its entry into the highly lucrative compact SUV segment.
The Mahindra XUV300 can be had with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine or a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel motor. Both powertrains are available with a six-speed manual transmission. Mahindra is readying an AMT for the XUV300, which should be launched in the coming months. Apart from EcoSport, all the SUVs in the segment get an AMT. However, the upcoming Venue is expected to be offered with either a torque converter AT or a DCT.
