- New compact SUV to take on the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and Honda WR-V
- Will be offered in both petrol and diesel power
- Derived from the Ssangyong Tivoli but for India in sub-4-metre guise
It's official! The S201 compact SUV will be known as the XUV300. It’s a compact SUV based on the Ssangyong Tivoli but is a sub-four-metre vehicle which will take on the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon as well as the Honda WR-V.
The car will be offered with both petrol and diesel power. Engine options are likely to be a 1.2-litre turbocharged unit, while the diesel version is likely to be the 1.5-litre found in its sibling the TUV300. This engine produces 100bhp/240Nm and is offered with a six-speed manual.
We have already seen the interiors and now know that the cabin has been derived from the Tivoli itself. The top spec model of this car gets climate control, rear AC vents, touchscreen infotainment system, faux leather upholstery, height adjustment for the driver’s seat, split folding rear seats and a TFT display for the instrument cluster. The car will sit below the XUV500 in India. Pricing and more details will be known in February 2019
