- Mahindra XUV300 is the second highest selling compact SUV in April 2019 in India.
- Top-spec W8 and W8(O) variants account for over 70 per cent sales.
- Mahindra has sold 4,200 units of XUV300 in April.Â
Mahindra XUV300 has surpassed 26,000 bookings in India since its launch in February this year. The company sold 4,200 units of the compact SUV in the country in April, thereby becoming the second-highest selling sub-4 meter SUV in India. In comparison, Mahindra sold 4,742 units of the XUV300 in March 2019. These are encouraging signs for the compact SUV, especially since the overall industry has witnessed a decline in sales across the segments.
Mahindra XUV300 offers best-in-segment performance and comes equipped with quite a few segment-first features. Mahindra claims the top-spec W8 and W8(O) variants account for over 70 per cent bookings, while a significant chunk of sales come from the petrol engine option.
The 1.2L turbo-petrol motor develops 110bhp and 200Nm. It is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. The XUV300 also gets a 115bhp/300Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that is also mated to the same six-speed manual transmission. This rival to Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport has its work cut out as Hyundai is gearing up to launch the Venue compact SUV in India this month.
