The Mahindra XUV300 has quickly emerged as a popular choice in the compact SUV segment ever since it was first launched in February 2019. At the time of launch, the XUV300 was limited to a manual transmission option in petrol and diesel guise. This time around, a camouflaged version of the compact SUV was spied in India, which is believed to be the AMT version. The heavily camouflaged version does not show any tell-tale signs of it being the AMT version, however, we believe so as the company plans to introduce an AMT variant soon.
We further believe that at the time of launch, the AMT version of the XUV300 will arrive with a 1.5-litre BS-VI compliant engine. Reports indicate that the company is also planning on introducing an AMT option for the Marazzo with the same 1.5-litre engine. Changes will be limited to mechanical upgrades while the design and features are likely to remain unchanged.
In terms of pricing, the Mahindra XUV300 automatic is expected to cost nearly a lakh over the current W8 variant. The addition of an AMT option will further boost sales for Mahindra’s popular selling product in the country.
