The XUV Aero is one the most radical concepts on display at the Auto Expo 2016. It is part of the design study from Mahindra to plan its future models. If people at the expo give a positive response to this concept, a production version of this might be appear soon.
The XUV Aero is a coupe version based on the XUV500, complete with sloping roofline and single door (on one side) and yet looks the part of being a large utility vehicle.
This is one of the first SUV coupe models, even in concept form, from a mass market manufacturer. The luxury models we know are the BMW X6 and GLE coupe.
The XUV Aero has been designed in Mumbai by the Mahindra designers with some inputs from the recently acquired Italian design house, Pininfarina.
The concept has only a single door on the driver side, while the left side of the Aero has suicide doors like we see in the Rolls-Royce cars.
The interior has been designed to match with the exterior colour theme complete with orange and black layout. The centre console has a large touch screen interface for the infotainment system.
There are no specifications available at the moment, but if it does reach production stage, it will get the same 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 140bhp.
