The Mahindra XUV 500 facelift was spied testing recently and now we have new spy pictures of another test mule, this time, with a sunroof. This new test vehicle was spotted at Cibhi near the Bangalore highway.
The latest images of the facelifted XUV 500 give us an idea of the revisions to the car. Apart from the sunroof, the front bumper is revised, headlamps are reworked and the grille is also revamped. The door handles will be in chrome and a new design for the alloy wheels can be expected. The other changes Mahindra might bring in are LED lamps for the high mounted stop light and a new chrome grille above the registration plate.
Coming to the powertrain, the new model is likely to carry over the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel mill that currently produces 140bhp of power and 330Nm of torque. The six-speed manual transmission will be continued with the availability of a six-speed automatic gearbox from the recently launched SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV.
With the appearance of the Mahindra XUV500's facelifted version numerous times now, we can expect its entry into the Indian market soon. The price of the facelifted avatar of XUV500 might be slightly more than the present version. It will rival the Tata Safari Storme and the Renault Duster.
