Finally, here are the first clear spyshots of the Mahindra XUV 500 facelift. The pictures seem to have been taken at Mahindra's stockyard hinting that the car might be launched soon.
The majority of the changes can be seen at the front of the car. The fascia features new headlamps and a chrome grille. The light clusters have been given new S-shaped LED DRLs, similar to the new Scorpio’s LED DRLs. The fog lamps are embellished in a lot of chrome. The car also gets a new alloy wheel pattern. The images don't reveal the changes at the back, however, from the previous images we know that the rear will get a chrome registration plate enclosure.
The updates to the XUV 500 will extend over to the cabin as well. The luxury and plush factor will be increased with the use of better quality of materials in the interior. There might be revisions to the dashboard and Mahindra might equip the car with the latest features and technologies like that of the new Scorpio.
The facelifted XUV 500 is expected to be powered by the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine currently in use and it produces 140bhp of power.
The Mahindra XUV 500 was launched in September 2011 and this is the first major update Mahindra will bring to their flagship offering. The next-gen XUV500 is expected to get a hybrid and an AT variant as well.
