- 1.2-litre turbo petrol version tested
- 18.20kmpl claimed mileage
The Mahindra XUV 3XO is amongst the latest compact SUVs that offer both petrol and diesel engine options. Here, we have tested the 1.2-litre direct injection turbocharged petrol engine with the six-speed torque converter automatic for its real-world mileage.
The 1.2-litre turbo engine makes 129bhp and 230Nm and officially, the XUV 3XO has a claimed mileage of 18.20kmpl. In our real-world mileage test, the car returned 9.6kmpl in the city conditions with the MID indicating 10.2kmpl, while out on the highway, we got 18.08kmpl with an MID-indicated 18.9kmpl. This gives us an average of 11.7kmpl and considering a tank capacity of 42 litres, it translates to a real-world range of 492km.
One of the most hotly anticipated compact SUVs in recent times, the XUV 3XO is the spiritual successor to the XUV300. The diesel model is powered by a 1.5-litre unit with an output of 115bhp and 300Nm and comes mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed AMT. Over the XUV300, the 3XO has a bigger boot, more powertrain options, and a much longer feature list including high-end features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, fully digital driver’s display, and Level 2 ADAS.
