Mahindra’s full-fledged electric innings will open on November 26, and its star batter will be the XEV 9e, whose prices will be announced on that day. Ahead of the launch, Mahindra has released a teaser showcasing the XEV's cabin.
Built similarly to the BE6, the cabin gets massive triple digital screens. This will be one of the first in the budget segment and the tech was unveiled at Mahindra’s event in South Africa last year. Like BE 6E, this too gets the new Mahindra illuminated steering wheel with the new infinity logo. Also visible is a large glass roof that will spread out across the length of the cabin. Finally, we can also see multi-zone climate control as a part of the package.
The XEV 9E began life as an XUV.e9 concept and will be a coupe SUV in its final production guise. We had expected the XUV.e8 to come along first given that it is essentially an electric version of the XUV700 but it looks like Mahindra wants to make a big bang on the electric scene. Its first EV, the XUV400 is powerful but took three iterations to bring it par with the Tata Nexon EV and it looks like Mahindra wants to take no chances with the XEV 9e.
