The much anticipated World SUV will be launched by 2011. Although, Mahindra officials did not reveal any particular date as to when the vehicle is expected.
The World SUV has been making news since a very long time and at the inauguration of its new hi-tech plant at Chakan, Pune - the cat was let out the bag.
"We are looking at significant share of the new SUV manufactured here to be exported into the US market. We are planning to come out with the new SUV next year," said Dr Pawan Goenka, president - Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra.
Apart from the new SUV, the officials also revealed that one more vehicle - Pik-Up - is also planned to hit the roads and its production will also happen at the new plant in Chakan. However, officials remained tight-lipped about the expected year or date.
