Having made its debut at the 2012 Auto Expo, the electric version of the Mahindra Verito has arrived once again at the 2014 edition of the Auto Expo. This time, however, the Verito electric has been unveiled in its facelifted avatar.
Now that the Verito electric has been shown, we expect Mahindra & Mahindra to launch it soon here in the Indian market. When launched, the Verito electric will be Mahindra’s second electric model after the e2o – a car, which unfortunately, has not fared too well in the market.
Underneath the rather bland-looking body-shell, the Verito electric houses a 29kW (39bhp) electric motor which enables the vehicle to offer decent performance and economy. Speaking of which, the Verito electric can run for up to 80km on a dull charge with a top speed of 85kmph. As for recharging, the car takes around seven hours for a full recharge.
Mahindra, it seems, has a theme going on with EVs at the Auto Expo. Besides the Verito Electric, the brand has also showcased its maiden electric sportscar concept called Halo and an updated version of the e2o with quick charge technology.
