Mahindra & Mahindra – one of India’s leading utility vehicle makers, has showcased a variety of show stoppers to lure visitors at the 2014 Auto Expo. The company has put its Formula E championship racer on display, giving the visitors a closer look at the future of motorsports.
The Formula E team is slated to start in the inaugural season of the FIA Formula E Championship, which begins in September 2014.
Besides the E racer, Mahindra has also revealed a hybrid version of the XUV 500 and the Quanto automatic. The XUV500 hybrid is the first ever diesel powered manual SUV with hybrid technology. Speaking of which, the hybrid power-train in the vehicle combines a conventional diesel engine with an electric propulsion system.
Following up with the rising trend of automatic vehicles, Mahindra has introduced a new automatic variant of the Quanto, which is expected to go on sale soon. Combined with Mahindra’s economical 1.5-litre diesel engine and such compact proportions, the Quanto automatic could prove to be a fairly practical city runabout.
