We were the first ones to bring you the exclusive detailed pictures of the new Mahindra TUV 300. And once again, thanks to our reader, Saif Shaikh, we bring you more pictures of the car at the making of its TV commercial in Vasai.
While Mahindra had four cars for the shoot, only the red TUV 300 was not covered as it was being shot with Prabhas of Bahubali fame. Like we mentioned in our previous articles, the TUV300 has taken a boxy approach, but thanks to the front grille which has been dipped in chrome, looks good from the fascia. The side profile looks basic and doesn’t look close to a battle tank as claimed by the company. The blacked-out B-pillar and the black roof rails are the only other noticeable aspects from this angle. The rear profile reminds us of the Quanto with the black pillar and vertical tail lamp unit. Just like the Ford EcoSport, the spare wheel is mounted on the rear door to make the car look bulky.
We are expecting the Mahindra TUV300 to be powered by the mHawk 80 series 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Quanto producing 100bhp and 240Nm of torque. This car will be offered in both manual and automated manual gearboxes (AMT).
Mahindra dealers have already started taking bookings for the TUV300, which will be launched in India on September 10th.
Stay tuned to CarWale as we uncover more details on the Mahindra TUV300.
