Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) Ltd recently launched the TUV300 Plus starting at Rs 9.47 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The carmaker's intention of introducing this model is to fill the void of a contemporary, powerful and flexible full-size SUV under the Rs 10-lakh price point. It's basically an elongated, nine-seater version of the compact SUV - the TUV300. Take a look at its picture gallery.
Available in three variants P4, P6 and P8, the TUV300 Plus is powered by a more powerful 2.2-litre 120PS (20PS more than the TUV300) mHAWKD120 diesel engine, which powers the Scorpio as well.
This powertrain comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission and the carmaker has equipped it with the brand's Micro-Hybrid technology as well.
A quick look at the vehicle tells us that design-wise there aren't many changes as compared to the standard TUV300. The same bold design with the imposing grille continues with this Plus version.
However, the TUV300 Plus has a bigger footprint with a length of 4,400mm (405mm more than standard TUV300) and even larger 16-inch alloy wheels.
The cabin boasts of faux leather seats along with height adjustable driver seat and steering mounted audio and phone controls. What’s more, now there are armrests for the front row too.
The biggest change is that the interior space can seat nine people and comes with the flexibility to fold the rear seats and create a large storage area.
