- The Mahindra TUV300 facelift gets mild cosmetic changes with revised features list.
- Expected to be launched in the coming few weeks.
The Mahindra TUV300 facelift has been arriving at dealerships already. Now, a walk around video of the refreshed TUV300 has surfaced online giving us in-depth details ahead of the imminent launch
Mahindra’s first sub-four metre SUV before the XUV300 joined in gets subtle cosmetic changes with the update along with revised features list and powertrain options. Appearance wise, the TUV300 facelift comes with a restyled front grille. The characteristic slated grille now has a black finish on it, thus giving the fascia a much-needed update. The bumper carries the same square shaped fog lamps while the lower half of the bumper gets a black finish. Meanwhile, the headlamps now have a smoky finish while there are clear lens taillamps at the back. The alloy wheels seen on the vehicle remain unchanged but there is a new roof-mounted spoiler at the back.
The cabin remains more or less the same, but additional equipment is likely to be part of the update, in line with the upcoming norms. So the refreshed TUV gets a driver airbag, ABS, rear parking sensors, seat-belt warning and high-speed warning as standard across all variants. The new TUV300 will be sold in five variants – entry-level T4+, T6+, T8, T10 and the top-spec T10 (O). The model we see here in the pictures is the T8.
Under the hood will be a single powertrain option as before, with no probability of petrol engine yet. This oil burner is the same old 1.5-litre mHawk100 turbocharged three-cylinder diesel producing 100bhp and 240Nm. According to reports, Mahindra might discontinue the Ricordo-sourced AMT gearbox option with the update and the TUV300 facelift will only be available with a five-speed manual transmission.
This will be the first major update for the ladder-on-frame sub-four-metre SUV since its introduction in 2015. When it goes on sale in a few weeks’ time, the prices are expected to be slightly higher than the current model.
