Mahindra will launch an AMT (automated manual transmission) spec version of its upcoming TUV300 compact SUV. Our exclusive picture gallery of the compact SUV confirms this development. The variants will get the auto Shift moniker as indicated by the similar badging seen on the TUV300 and Quanto AT display car.
The AMT in the TUV300 is most likely be the same one that was shown with the Quanto at the 2014 Auto Expo. It will be offered across all variants of the compact SUV.
This will be the first AMT car from Mahindra as well as the only one-of-its-kind in the segment. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh putting it in competition with the Hyundai Creta diesel AT, Volkswagen Vento diesel AT, Hyundai Verna diesel AT and the Skoda Rapid diesel AT.
