Mahindra will launch the Verito Vibe (CS) at an event in Mumbai tomorrow and has released a teaser picture that shows the silhouette on its official Facebook page. The picture is accompanied by a message saying ‘Mahindra’s new compact 3 box car with a large boot.
Although the company is attempting to keep the Vibe’s design a secret, we have already seen the car (in the flesh) thanks to various spy shots. The Mahindra Verito Vibe will be powered the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel mill that sits in the standard wheelbase Verito. It produces 66PS and 160Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
In terms of overall design, the Verito Vibe until the C-Pillar looks exactly the same as its larger sibling and this includes the quite spacious interiors that the car is well known for. Reports suggest that the car, despite being cut short will also have a large boot.
We expect that prices for the Verito Vibe will start at Rs 4.5 lakh. Its competitors in the B-segment include the Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Nissan Micra and the Indica Vista. This will be the Indian SUV major’s second player in the sub four metre segment after the Quanto.
