Mahindra will launch the successor to its compact electric vehicle the Revai next month. The new car has been named the E2O-keeping in line with Mahindra’s policy of giving every one of its vehicles names ending with O.
The E2O will be powered by a 29kw electric motor (39.4bhp) that uses 48-volt compact lithium ion batteries. The company had earlier decided to launch the car with lead-acid batteries but has now scrapped the plan in favour of leasing the batteries.
Expected to cost around Rs 5.5-6 lakh, the E2O will the first vehicle to be produced at Mahindra’s new green facility outside Bengaluru.
