Mahindra is preparing to launch nine products in the current financial year to strengthen its position in the Indian passenger car market. This news was revealed, yesterday, during the launch of the facelifted XUV500.
While nine launches looks like a big number, not all of them are going to be completely new products. It will launch two new compact SUVs, out of which one could be the facelifted Quanto. In fact, the company is planning to rename this compact SUV to Canto in order to get rid of the failed brand. The other compact SUV in question has been spied many times on the Indian roads. This SUV has been developed using a new platform and the company is betting big on it.
The company also confirmed that it doesn’t plan to invest anymore in the petrol and the diesel variants of the Verito. However, Mahindra might soon launch the electric version of it. Out of the nine launches, we will see two new variants of the Bolero. While the major focus for the company will be the facelifted Bolero which has been the highest selling multi-utility vehicle, it plans to market the compact Bolero heavily.
"We plan to launch nine products including two all-new compact SUVs and refreshes of current models during the current fiscal," said Pawan Goenka, executive director, Mahindra.
