After Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors’ foray into Philippines’ booming car industry, another major Indian automaker has decided to follow suit. The automaker in question is Mahindra & Mahindra – a brand which already enjoys a healthy presence in other global markets like Australia, Middle East and Africa.
According to the Inquirer, Mahindra will enter Philippines in partnership with The Colombian Group (TCG) which will act as the Indian brand’s official distributor in the local region. The Colombian Group’s existing network of partners includes brands such as BMW, Kia and Peugeot.
The report also says that the first of the offerings could come in the form of the Bolero, which will be called the Enforcer in the Philippines. The utility vehicle could go on sale locally by the first quarter of next year, followed by a series of new models for Filipino buyers. The latter models, in all probability, will be the XUV 500 and the latest-generation Scorpio.
