Earlier this week, Mahindra announced the prices of the entry-level variants of the Mahindra Thar, starting at Rs. 12.99 lakh and Rs. 13.99 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom) for the petrol and diesel versions, respectively.
The Indian automaker has now revealed the variant-wise prices of the SUV for the RWD lineup. The Thar Roxx is available in 6 variants, namely MX1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L and AX7L. Further, customers can choose from a range of seven colours all of which come with a black roof as standard.
Powering the Thar are two engine options, including the 2.0-litre, turbo-petrol unit and the 2.2-litre, diesel unit. In the base MT variants, the petrol engine produces 150bhp/330Nm while in the higher-spec models, the output is 160bhp/330Nm. The six-speed AT version has an output of 175bhp/380Nm. The diesel engine on the other hand is a 2.2-litre unit producing 150bhp/330Nm in the lower-spec RWD MT and AT guise while the higher-spec 4WD AT version has an output of 171bhp/370Nm. The feature list is pretty comprehensive with climate control, leatherette upholstery, connected car technology, TPMS, panoramic sunroof and level-2 ADAS for the AX5L and AX7L variants.
Prices have been announced for all the RWD drive variants with the 4X4 trims expected to arrive at a later date. Bookings will open 3 October, test drives will start from 14 September and deliveries during the festival season.
