- To get single- and dual-pane sunroof
- White upholstery, larger touchscreen, and new steering wheel featured
Mahindra is gearing up to make Independence Day even more special with the launch of its new product, the Thar Roxx. This five-door version of the Thar will make its mark in the Indian market on 15 August. Ahead of its official announcement, the automaker has started teasing the SUV in bits and pieces starting with its exterior. However, the spy pictures of the cabin of the Roxx have surfaced, revealing many details.
As seen in the picture, the first noticeable element of the Mahindra Thar Roxx’s cabin is the new white upholstery. This resembles that of the XUV700 and will likely get a ventilation function for the front seats. Now, considering the nature of the SUV, offering light colour seats could prove to be a hassle to maintain.
That said, the cabin of the new Thar will be equipped with modern features including a larger touchscreen infotainment screen, bezel-less IRVM, automatic climate control, new steering wheel, six airbags, and a single-pane sunroof. The latter suggests that the variant in question here is not the top-spec, as the latest official teaser of the Thar Roxx revealed the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof.
Moreover, the upcoming Thar Roxx will get an adjustable headrest for all passengers, split centre armrest, rear armrest, three-point seatbelt for all passengers, and roof-mounted rear speakers. Also, the instrument panel is the same as the one seen on the current Thar, another hint of this spied version being a lower-spec.
Mechanically, the Thar Roxx could make use of the existing powertrain option. However, it is yet to be seen whether the new iteration of Thar will be offered in the RWD guise or not. Upon its arrival, the Thar Roxx will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the Force Gurkha, both being offered in five-door guise.
