- Two variants tested
- Features include Level 2 ADAS
The Bharat NCAP is a rating-based safety assessment of Indian cars based on various parameters. In its latest round of tests, the safety program crash-tested two variants of the Mahindra Thar Roxx – AX5L and MX3. The popular SUV has scored a five-star safety rating by BNCAP. According to Mahindra, the Thar Roxx has achieved the highest overall score so far by any ICE vehicle in Bharat NCAP testing.
In terms of safety features, the Thar Roxx comes with six airbags, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, electronic stability control (ESC), and seatbelt reminder as standard across all variants. Additionally, Level 2 ADAS features, such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and a 360-degree surround view system with a blind view monitor are available in select variants.
The Thar Roxx is available in both petrol and diesel engine options along with 4x4 and 4x2 configurations. As of October this year, the popular SUV has reached a waiting period of up to 18 months, resulting in timelines stretching to 2026. Mahindra plans to reduce the waiting period for the Roxx with an increase in production that is set to take place soon.
