- Expected to get a panoramic sunroof
- It will rival the Gurkha five-door
Mahindra has officially revealed the Thar five-door today and christened it as the Thar Roxx. The larger iteration of the lifestyle SUV will be launched in India on 15 August and will lock horns with the Force Gurkha five-door.
On the design front, the new Mahindra Thar Roxx gets circular LED DRLs, projector headlamps, circular fog lights, new multi-slat grille, and fender-mounted ORVMs. Further, it receives dual-tone alloy wheels, black-coloured front door handles, front camera, body-coloured rear door handles mounted on the C-pillar, square LED taillights, and faux skid plates.
While Mahindra has not revealed the interior of the 2024 Thar Roxx, it could come equipped with a panoramic sunroof (single pane unit for mid-spec variants), larger touchscreen unit, dual-zone climate control, ADAS suite, ventilated front seats, cruise control, automatic climate control, and more.
Under the hood, the Thar Roxx is likely to be powered by 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines paired with six-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes. Apart from traditional rivals like the Force Gurkha five-door, the Thar Roxx will also compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun.
