It was recently at Mahindra Adventure's off-roading training academy when we were first told about the limited edition of the Thar. Now the Facebook page of the company has revealed an image of this version of the vehicle giving out some more details. Only 30 units of this model will be produced.
The Mahindra Thar's Adventure edition comes in a new jawa brown colour and as the company says, it gets an adventure boost while sporting a unique body wrap with a 2D map and a compass. The headlights and tail lamps are covered with protectors and chaff screen to shield them from any damage during off-roading. The off-roader look is further sustained by the wheel arch extensions.
Coming to the changes in the cabin, the most evident modification is the new black seat cover that gets orange piping. There are small revisions to the centre console that will help to keep the basic gear in place. The company has thrown in new moulded floor mats that can double up during self-recovery or as camping requirements.
This Thar Adventure Edition still comes powered by the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder, CRDe turbo diesel mill that churns out 103bhp of power and 247Nm of torque. The motor comes paired to a five-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels in 2WD mode. Since it is a proper off-roader, we expect Mahindra to equip the limited edition with the Borg Warner four-wheel drive mechanism that sends torque to all the four wheels.
Mahindra has not officially revealed the prices of the Thar Adventure edition yet, but have confirmed that the 30 Thars will be sold through select dealerships. With this special model, the company has surely driven the Thar that extra mile to provide prospective buyers and enthusiasts with something unique this Diwali.
