The Mahindra Thar 700 is a signature edition to celebrate 70 years of Mahindra’s off-roading heritage. The SUV gets some cosmetic changes to differentiate it from the standard vehicle and only 700 units of this model will be built. Though it continues to be powered by the same 2.5-litre CRDe engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, it gets some interesting changes that make it stand out. Let's take a look at the top three highlights.
1. New exterior colour options
Mahindra is offering only two body colour choices – napoli black and aqua marine. The latter paint shade is same as the one available with the brand's latest offering - the Marazzo.
2. Unique cosmetic enhancements
The SUV also gets some exclusive touches to enhance its exterior appearance. A napoli black finish for the grille and signature edition decals are a part of the package. There's also a special emblem on the Thar's right fender that bears the signature of Anand Mahindra, Mahindra Group's chairman. Furthermore, the SUV rides on 15-inch alloy wheels, which if you notice are similar to ones seen on the previous-gen Scorpio and Marksman.
3. New seat covers
There are not many changes inside the cabin apart from new seat covers. The front two seats are adorned in black Kolon leatherette upholstery with Thar embroidery.
