Mahindra unveiled a slew of refreshed vehicles at the 2018 Auto Expo. The 'TUV Stinger' was one such concept, which if launched, will be the carmaker's and, in fact, India's first convertible SUV. While a wide range of electric vehicle concepts including India's first electric mini SUV was at the Mahindra stall, this Stinger grabbed all the attention amongst the exhibits. Why? This photo gallery will explain.
The Stinger is the first made-in-India vehicle that has the capability of an SUV and the stylishness of a convertible. No wonder then, Mahindra is targeting young active lifestyle seekers and urban explorers.
The squarish and edgy design hints at the blocky design of the TUV300 already available in the market. Mahindra confirmed it is based on the Mahindra TUV300 compact SUV.
Since it uses the TUV300’s ladder frame chassis with a chopped body shell, we can very well call it the drop-top version of Mahindra's TUV300 SUV.
Up front is Mahindra's familiar grille from the standard TUV300. However, all the lights including the headlamps, DRLs, fog lamps and even for that matter, the tail lamps, are all LED units.
The interior features a huge tablet-like infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster and air-con unit. We can expect it to be powered by an engine from Mahindra's familiar mHawk family.
