Mahindra Ssangyong has previewed its e-XIV (eXciting user Interface Vehicle) concept – the third concept in the XIV series. As the name suggests, the e-XIV is is expected to be aplug-in hybrid electric vehicle. The pictures show a 4.1 meters long, 1.7 meters wide vehicle with a wheelbase of 2.6 meters.
Pictures reveal that the compact crossover has also been fitted with solar panels on the roof to power the majority of the electrical systems in the vehicle, along with extensive use of LEDs for the vehicle. The engine and most other details will be divulged at the Paris Motor Show, where this vehicle will debut.
The e-XIV is still a concept and the actual production car will look lot different, when it is rolled-out by the second half of 2013. The XIV is a compact crossover with aggressive styling, mainly targeting the youth. The model might be offered in India in a while, since Mahindra will introduce the brand here with the Rexton W later this year and might also move parts of Ssangyong production to India for cost benefits.
