Earlier this year, Mahindra launched the Scorpio N Z8 Select variant with prices starting from Rs. 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant of the three-row SUV can be had in both diesel and petrol powertrains across manual and automatic gearbox options. On the road, the Z8 Select variant comes to exactly Rs. 22 lakh and for similar money, one could buy the Hyundai Creta SX (O) instead. Here’s how these two SUVs compare in terms of features.
The Creta is slightly more expensive and yes, it’s a crossover and not a proper SUV like the Scorpio N. But there is no denying that it’s a capable vehicle in its own right. Now in terms of standout features in the Scorpio N Z8 Select variant, it comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a single-pane sunroof, leatherette seats, a rear wiper with defogger and sequential indicators. Other features a coloured TFT display between the analogue dials, rear camera, electric mirrors, LED headlights, LED fog lights and 17-inch alloy wheels. For safety, all variants of the Scorpio N come with front, side and curtain airbags, ABS, ESP and hill hold assist.
As for the Creta SX (O) variant, the highlights include level 2 ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, fully digital driver’s display, rear window blinds, ventilated seats, wireless charging and more. The Z8 Select variant of the Scorpio N doesn’t get the abovementioned features but it has got immense road presence, better off-roading capabilities and more space.
