Mahindra has launched a new one-below-the-top S9 trim of their popular SUV, the Scorpio, at a price tag of Rs 13.99 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi. The S9 is just Rs 50,000 pricier over the S7 and gets the 140bhp setup along with automatic climate control, touchscreen display with navigation and the LED light guides.
Stacked between the S7 and the S11 trims, the S9 does not get the all-wheel drive or the automatic options like the S11 but it gets climate control, cruise control, steering mounted audio controls and wing-mirrors with LED indicators. The 15cm touchscreen infotainment system gets voice assist along with GPS navigation as standard.
The 2.2-litre mHAWK turbo-diesel develops 140hp of power and 320Nm of torque and gets a six-speed manual gearbox along with the micro-hybrid technology. In terms of safety, dual front airbags and ABS are offered along with anti-theft warnings and engine immobiliser for security.
