Mahindra & Mahindra, today, announced their sales figures for February. The report shows a 10 per cent decline in total sales as 38,033 units were sold last month in comparison to 42,166 cars sold in the same month last year.
The company sold 34,918 units in India during February 2015 as compared to 39,338 units during February 2014. Last month, the company sold 18,103 units of the passenger vehicles segment that include utility vehicles and the Verito. They had sold 19,308 units of the same during the corresponding period in 2014.
Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, "The auto industry has not seen any major changes in the Union Budget 2015-16. However looking at the overall budget proposals including planned spend on infrastructure and social reforms, we expect positive sentiments going forward. Further, with an expected revision in lending rates in the RBI policy in early April, the industry should see better times ahead. At Mahindra we are happy with our performance in Exports and the HCV segment where we have seen good growth."
While we cannot see much action in the sales figures as of now, we expect that these numbers will change with the launch of the facelifted Thar, upcoming new Bolero and sub-four-metre compact SUV S101. The highly anticipated cars will surely help Mahindra to better their sales report.
