The Mahindra badged Rexton was last seen at the 2018 Auto Expo event in the country. This time around, the luxury SUV has been spotted on test ahead of its anticipated debut in the festive season later this year. It is believed that at the time of its launch, the company might position it above the XUV500 brand and is likely to be called the XUV700.
As seen at the Auto Expo event, the vehicle featured dark horizontal slats in the centre along with a single chrome borderline at the top. The SUV also gets a large muscular grille with LED foglamps, LED projector headlamps and LED daytime running lamps. Step inside and one will be welcomed by premium leather upholstery, soft-touch plastic and ventilated seats. The SUV will be offered with dual-zone automatic climate control, electric sunroof and eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, GPS and navigation. As for safety, it will be offered with ABS with EBD, nine-airbags, electric parking brake and more.
Although mechanical details have remained unannounced for now, we believe that the vehicle might be powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine that will generate about 180bhp of power and 420Nm of torque. The modestly powered engine will come mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come.
